Awards and recognition

As a member of Kaiser Permanente, you trust us to protect your health and well-being — and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.

We measure our success primarily by the lives we improve, in the smiles and gratitude of you and your loved ones. We’re also honored when our quality of care is recognized by other organizations and publications. When you combine our commitment to our members’ health and well-being, and our high performance in objective quality measures, you get the region’s leading health system.1

Permanente Medicine physicians

Our physicians form the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group — the largest multispecialty medical group in the region — and they exclusively treat Kaiser Permanente members. We recruit many of our physicians from top-ranked academic programs and successful private practices.

Award-winning nursing care

When we celebrate Nurses Month in May, we recognize and honor nurses who consistently go above and beyond the traditional role of nursing through the Daisy Award. Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States is a participating organization of the Daisy Award Foundation.

The Daisy Award honors the work that nurses do for patients and families every day. It recognizes the clinical skill and compassion that nurses provide to patients and families. The Daisy Award can be awarded to direct care nurses, nurse-led teams, and nurse leaders.

For 2023, we will recognize several Nurse-led teams for their collaboration and teamwork through the DAISY TEAM Award.

The DAISY Team Award is designed to honor collaboration by two or more people, led by nurses, who identify and meet patient and patient-family needs by going above and beyond the traditional role of Nursing.

Leading access

You don’t just need quality care — you need it quick, especially when you’re sick. That’s why we’re leaders in making it easy to access care, whether in person at our facilities or at home or work via virtual care.

Care under one roof

You receive care at our state-of-the-art medical centers, conveniently located throughout the region. Each facility has many services under one roof, including primary care, pharmacy, laboratory, and more, so you can save time with fewer trips.

Urgent and emergency care anywhere

Several of our medical centers are also Advanced Urgent Care and Urgent Care centers, where you can receive even faster care in emergencies. You’re also covered worldwide for any emergency, at any licensed medical facility.3

Flexible virtual care

Our virtual care services ensure that you can get care whenever and wherever you need it, on your schedule. These services include a 24/7 nurse advice line, 24/7 video calls with a clinician without an appointment, text chat with clinicians, and more. You can also have many appointments by phone or video instead of visiting a medical center.4

Proven results

When you get the right care from doctors, nurses, and a complete care team within the region’s leading health system, you can expect great results for your health.1
