Awards and recognition

We are dedicated to upholding the trust our patients put in us to protect their health and well-being. That’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly. We measure success by the lives we positively affect in the smiles and gratitude patients and their loved ones show us. We’re also heartened by the way our care and service are frequently recognized by others in our profession, industry, and community. When you combine top doctors with the top tools and systems and provide leading access, you get better results.

Recognized NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home

30/33

All of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group primary care practices received the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Level III rating at 30 Kaiser Permanente medical centers. The PCMH Level III rating is NCQA’s highest recognition for integrated and coordinated care delivery.

Leading access

Even the best care isn’t worth much when you can’t get it when you need it. We lead in making it easy to get the care you need.

Secure emails improve health

A third of patients with chronic conditions who exchanged secure emails with their doctors said that these communications improved their overall health, according to a Kaiser Permanente study published in July 2016 in The American Journal of Managed Care.1

Shorter wait times

Our members experience shorter wait times to see specialists within Kaiser Permanente than specialists in the community.2

Faster access

Since we introduced video visits with our doctors in 2013, they are a part of daily patient care in Urgent Care, adult family medicine, pediatrics, and behavioral health (adult and child psychotherapy and psychiatry)—with more specialties to come. Members can easily connect with their personal physician, their child’s pediatrician, a behavioral health clinician, or emergency medicine doctor via video on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Lab results online

Members in Maryland, Virginia, and the District read their lab results online more than one million times in the past year.3

Under one roof

We provide 24/7 urgent care in 6 locations — and extended late night and weekend care at 5 additional locations — where a pharmacy, lab, and advanced imaging are located on the premises.

Proven results

When you have the right doctors, the right tools and systems, and the right access, you can expect great results.
